Songs & Stories of the Huni Kuin

  • 235 N Kihei Rd Kihei, HI 96753 United States (map)

Aloha Friends & Family,

Join us for an evening of Amazonian Culture with visiting ambassador, village nurse and Pajé (master spiritual healer) Masha Huni Kuin from Village Vigilante on the headwaters of the Humaita River in Acre, Brazil.

Masha earned the nick name "The Dalai Masha" in years past from his peaceful and joyful nature. He carries the ancient lineage of the indigenous science of plant medicines and the traditions, stories, healing and cosmological wisdom of the forest. He is ordained with the title TXANA (wise seer / the one who sings) and is supported by his ancestors.

Masha Huni Kuin, together with the supportive mastery of Curandero and Vegetalista Abraham Lozanobrioso, will be sharing stories, songs and chants that depict the anthropology of the Huni Kuin and regional Amazonian tribes.

Also known as "true people" or "people with traditions" Masha's tribe are indigenous to Brazil and parts of Peru along the mighty rivers that stretch across a continent and interconnect our Earth's most diverse rainforest.

The Huni Kuin are an ancient tribe that for a millennia, have used sacred medicines as a link to the ancestral spirits of the forest and Mother Nature/Yuxibu.

After generations of persecution they have managed to keep their traditions alive.

Masha is here to remind us of the "true people", the Huni Kuin, we are all meant to be and we are so grateful he has sacrificed time away from family and community to share these gifts with us.

Everyone is welcome
